PRIVACY POLICY
MolPlayer
Privacy Policy
MolPlayer is designed around on-device playback and management, with no account, advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking. Media leaves the device only when you initiate transfer to a local computer, another app, or a stream server.
Effective and last updated: 2026-08-01
01
Content and Settings the App Processes
When you use the system Photos or Files picker, open a video from another app, upload over Wi-Fi, or enter a stream address, MolPlayer processes the videos, folder names, and stream URLs you selected to provide importing, playback, recording, organization, transfer, and sharing features.
The app stores language, file ordering, cached video durations, playback positions, and whether Face ID protection is enabled locally on the device. The current version does not require an account or request your name, phone number, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifier.
02
On-Device Storage, Retention, and Deletion
Imported videos, network-stream recordings, and folders are stored by default in MolPlayer's app sandbox documents directory. Playback and recording are primarily performed on the device, while playback positions and interface preferences are saved in local settings.
Media remains until you confirm deletion in the app or Wi-Fi management page, clear app data through the system, or uninstall the app. Copies shared or downloaded elsewhere must be managed and deleted at their destination. The developer cannot restore files deleted from your device from a server.
03
Photos, Files, and Face ID
Photos and Files access is initiated through iOS system pickers, and MolPlayer receives only the items you explicitly select. You can manage related permissions in system settings.
Face ID protection is off by default. When enabled, authentication is performed by iOS LocalAuthentication. MolPlayer receives only the success or failure result and does not read or store your face image or biometric template.
04
Wi-Fi Transfer
The Wi-Fi server runs only after you start it manually in the app. It provides library upload, download, and management to devices on the same local network that have the current address and random access code, and stops when MolPlayer leaves the foreground.
Local transfer currently uses HTTP and is not end-to-end encrypted. Use it only on a trusted network and do not share the address or access code with untrusted people. Transfer flows directly between your device and the computer opening the page, without passing through a Matuan server.
05
Network Streams, Third-Party Components, and Sharing
When you enter an HLS, HTTP, RTSP, RTMP, SRT, or other stream URL, the device connects directly to the server for that address. The server may receive ordinary connection information and process the request under its own policy. Matuan does not provide a stream relay. Recordings are stored in the local media library.
MolPlayer uses Apple media frameworks and MobileVLCKit for playback. After you send a video to another app, cloud provider, or service through the system share sheet, the recipient handles that content under its own policy.
06
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
The current version does not integrate third-party advertising, user analytics, crash reporting, or cross-app tracking SDKs and does not use the advertising identifier. Wi-Fi diagnostic details remain temporarily on the device unless you actively copy and send them.
07
Policy Changes
If a future version adds cloud services, accounts, analytics, or another feature that changes data handling, this policy will be updated and the effective and last updated date at the top of the page will change.
